I've been a big fan of the golden-age Sandman since reading Sandman Mystery Theatre. The character's design was what initially drew me in and the gruesome intriguing crime genre is what kept me reading. Upon hearing they were releasing a new book I had to check it out. Even before the book came out I was peeping at the art Riley Rossmo was teasing on his instagram page and loved what I was seeing. Then one day I came across this page and knew if it was ever to be sold I was definitely going to gun for it. I tend to really favor these splash with panel type pages. Although everyone loves a good splash I feel panels are kinda what makes comics recognizable as comic art. I also love how this image isn't a close up but a wide shot showcasing the hero in the environment. Also I just love the rendering style of Riley's art; I love the little details such as how he draws the cityscape in the back and absolutely love his usage of tone. All in all this book was a fun read with awesome art; definitely recommend. Big thanks again to Felix!
