Description

Part 1 of the epic Target 2006 Story line! This is my second-favorite Transformers Comic Book story arc of all-time!

A tie-in to the then upcoming Transformers The Movie, it introduced British comic readers to the new characters from the upcoming 1986 film!

"The mysterious disappearance of Optimus Prime heralds the appearance of three super-powerful Decepticons from the future, led by Galvatron. With new arrival from Cybertron Ultra Magnus at their side, the Autobots find themselves forced to ally with Megatron against this new foe... but what is the secret their enemy is hiding, and what does he want in 1986?"

This page in particular sees Galvatron and Cyclonus having buried Soundwave and Megatron under a mountain of rubble. In a cool moment (Current day readers did not yet know that Galvatron and Megatron were one and the same) Laserbeak's animal instinct could sniff out who his leader is.

As Galvatron issues new marching orders to the Constructicons, Jazz and Ironhide are left to ponder what has become of the Autobots in 2006.

Congrats on the great nostalgia add! Galvatron always makes a splashy entrance, and a well-loved pet always knows their master.

Galvatron, oh Galvatron, I still hear Lazerbeak crowin'
I still see his dark eyes glowin'
He was Megatron then he was Galvatron

Anderson, Jeff Anderson, I still hear your bots transforming
While I Target cannons flashing
I clean my gun and dream of Megatron

I'll still be there standing by Transformers
And letters lookin' Halfacree
And is she writing there for me?
With the reach where it's used England

I have to say, this British art was a lot nicer than a lot of the art in the American series. Kudos for landing it!

Beauty piece though I find transformers a lot like the "shell game". They stay still and I can sort of figure them out, then they move around and and I'm like g---d-----t! Now I got no idea who to cheer for anymore. Perhaps I have to invest in a Transformers Encyclopedia or something. Has to be one out there.
