Robin (Tim Drake) & Spoiler (Robin #4 Homage) by Tom Grummett 11x17

Have always been a fan of Tom Grummett's Tim Drake since the 90's series that spun off from Knightfall. I still think Tom draws Tim the best. Robin #1 was such a horrible starting point because it picked up in the middle of an event but that run had such great stories and art by the duo Chuck Dixon and Tom. Then eventually Fabian Nicieza came along after some bumps along the road to close out that run that developed into Red Robin which was even better IMHO. I had originally wanted to get a published page from Tom's work on the run but they seem to be hard to find. Then, I thought of only getting Robin as a commission but re-read the early appearances with Stephanie Brown as Spoiler and they just complemented each other so well from her first appearance in Detective #647 and Robin #3-5 so I decided to get both. When I seen the background, it reminded me of Nanda Parbat but then I started looking through the early covers from his run and it's similar to what he drew for issue #4. So I guess you could say that this is a homage to it. Glad how it turned out! Thanks to my friend Phil for picking this up at FanExpo Dallas.
