You gotta remember, a lot of art collectors DON'T read comics anymore and the ones that read "some" comics, tend to read collections of older books from their youth. So no, I certainly haven't read this! But having said that, I've NEVER felt I needed to read a book in order to appreciate the art within and that's exactly what I'm doing here. I love this monument and I also love when artists in comics play around with it by either swapping out a president's head for a comic character, or just adding the character tothe existing heads. Skulltastic!
Oh, I realize this, Ruben. And agree, we like the OA for the OA, and don't NEED to read the book to appreciate. I do it persuing CAF every day :) But assuming you enjoy the story that piece is from, for me, always adds to the experience of owning and looking at the piece. New nostalgia may be different from the old nostalgia but it's still nostalgia!

I loved reading the original McNiven Old Man Logan saga back in the day, and this DPS is very memorable. Huge get, K, congrats!

Fantastic page and a fantastic story. This was the first story I read when I considered reading comics again for the first time in 20+ years.
That's where you can tell great artists (I am referring to both penciler and inker). A new take on a classic image and even without context they captivate the audience.
McNiven is one of the greatest contemporary artists, I wish he did more interior work (I read only Marvel, I might have missed some of his more recent work).

Tremendous scale on display here and it makes for a very scenic DPS. I would say majestic, but looking up there and seeing the Red Skull is anything but. Also the driver better lock those hubs out in that terrain. Beep, beep Kahlil's got the keys to the Jeep!

Can't believe I'm just now seeing this. I'm clearly behind on my CAF-ing. I'm a big fan of establishing shots in comics. The best artists evoke the themes of the story and wow you all at once. McNiven's definitely in that class. I remember reading this and instantly understanding the stakes of OML. Fantastic.

There are a lot of things remarkable in that amazing DPS! But the one I like more is the fact that it instantaneously transports me to the Old Logan's "world"! The Red Skull such an asshole!!! I'm very happy for you my friend you are achieving your collector's goals!!!

Absolutely kickass DPS from Steve McNiven and Dexter Vines! Love this image of the Red Skull's face alongside the other Presidents. Gorgeously penciled and inked image of Mt. Rushmore. And I love the little tiny image of the Jeep down at the foot of the mountain. For me, that's the kind of added touch that really makes an image like this work. Congrats on picking up an important splash from McNiven and Vines' fabulous run. It's totally killer!

AMAZING pick up, Kahlil!! -ANY- Old Man Logan get is as good as gold, but -this- one is totally legit. Good grief... A massive story beat, and a chilling "if you had only one image to summarize the story..." image. Its a powerful, weighty piece dripping with superb world building and narrative heft; an excellent example of the storytelling muscle Millar and McNiven almost effortlessly displayed.
Old Man Logan was -SO- revolutionary in its storytelling approach. Edge-of-your seat, with a fun psychological element Millar used to leverage the audience's expectations against themselves/ourselves. (Personally, I was really hoping Millar would write the first epic and classic Wolverine story in which Logan -never- extends his claws, but Millar's was okay, too... :) ).
Within a story like OML, the world is a central player - the environment is -everything-, and we discover the rules and reality of it as readers, every time we turn the page. This piece is a jewel in the storytelling firmament of that classic run, K. Breathtaking. 💪
