Love this movie!

Can't beat it as a big fan of the film!  Congrats, man, and good lookin' out, Will!

What a great story!  And I love The Secret Of Nimh and all the great characters like Mrs. Brisby (boy, autocorrect did NOT like the word "Brisby" and would have nothing to do with it...but I finally prevailed).  This is simply delightful, congrats!

Fun piece of art to go with something you really hold in high regard: love of this project and your friendship with Will K.   Cheers!

What a beautiful gesture and lovely bit of art 

Great gift, story and sketch. That animated movie really left a mark on me (us all?) for his darker treatment and for the fact it considered children to be intelligent, not drowning them in soapy songs every 5 minutes.

I absolutely agree 1000% with the first part of your statement.  Not sure if I noticed it at the time, as I was in my 20's when the film came out.  So maybe the darker tone wasn't as jarring at that age as it might have been if I were much younger.  And while I wouldn't go so far as to say that it wasn't meant for kids (it was still Rated G), you're right in that it certainly didn't talk down to them.

As far as the soapy songs comment (LOL) Disney didn't actually go full tilt into the animated musical until 1989's The Little Mermaid.  After that, it became their bread and butter for the next decade.  In the decade preceding that (the same era as NIMH), between 1977-1988, they released The Rescuers, The Fox and the Hound, The Black Cauldron, The Great Mouse Detective, and Oliver & Company.  None of which were particularly musical.

Oh, and by the way, even as an adult, I kind of dig the soapy songs stuff.  Haha!  Thanks for the comment my friend.  

Oh the childhood feels!

A Don Bluth original!  Wow!  And what a great story and friend.  The Secret of NIMH is one of my favorite childhood movies.

There was no wrong answer to Will's question, but Mrs. B looks perfectly delightful here, so you certainly made the right choice anyway.

Thanks Jeff.  And I completely agree, there was no wrong answer.  I would have been just as thrilled with a Fievel drawing by Bluth, and it certainly would have been no less generous and kind of a gesture by Will.  I had absolutely no idea what he was up to and I made my choice based solely on my love for the film.
