It's crazy to think how work of this quality and vintage is so ridiculously affordable even four decades on. Nice addition, artless!
I complety agree, Ruben. I won this on a thrill bid and was delighted it came my way without having to spend anywhere near what I would naively expect it to cost in 2024. Lots of nostalgia for me with this book, and it was such a pioneering effort from all the creators, including and especially Hampton
Did I see this at your place, or is it new? I know Scott took really good care of these pages, so I'm sure it looks even better in person than this scan. Great page buddy! Congrats!
This is a new one for me, but not my first Silverheels page, as you know! Can't get enough of this classic tale
Everything screams inhospitable, from the trapped-box design, to the dark colors drowning the red, to the posing of the main character. Congrats on a real beauty!
Great observations! Hampton uses the panel sizes and relationships, camera angles, poses, lighting, color and of course the expressions to get the story and vibe across. I really like the lifeless terrain here, which contrasts so much with the lush jungle scenes in the book, which was my motivation for picking up a previous page in this story.
One, two, three, four

We were goin' down
I can feel the sinkin'
But then its paint around
And everyone Zaboik before
Flashed before my eyes
And Hampton mattered even more
I looked into the lines
Well we all want something better and
We wished that Hampton drew
Well we all want something beautiful
I wish for something new
Been lookin' for a reason and
Something from Bruce
Silverheel come down (when the heels come down)
Silverheel touch ground (when the heels touch ground)
And you feel like Zaboik's over
There's a tentacle for you
Silverheel come down (when the wheels come down)
Gorgeous storytelling!!!
Not familiar with this story, but this excellent painted sequence makes me want to check it out. Lovely page.
Oh no, the Zaboik got him!!! Ahhh... this isn't like a Love Sausage thing is it?
I hadn't thought of it as a romantic page, but I see it in a new light now...!
Another terrific page from this book.
These pages always look amazing!
