Rare & gorgeous!
Many thanks, Rick. It is rare indeed and really lovely in person.
Beautiful piece 👍
What a fun piece of art!
Many thanks, and many congratulations on a fantastic CAF Gallery.
Splashy!! In more ways than one ;-)
A very nice piece, was familiar with her Elfquest work but have not seen much else of her art at all so this is very interesting to look at and appreciate.
Congrats and thanks for sharing it!
Many thanks, Kavi. Yes, there isn't much work by her outside Elfquest. And thank you also for a marvellous pun!
Love Elfquest, but had absolutely no idea she had done any Marvel work. This is so cool and so fun for so many reasons. Love it.
Many thanks, Eric. I must confess that I, too, had no idea about her Marvel work. This is such a nice piece and does reflect her own unique style.
Screeeee ek ek ek.
Shhplassh ssh ssh
This is indeed a beautifully illustrated page. Such gorgeous and eye appealing rendering! I think, however, that the thing that stands out most to me is that (and correct me if I'm wrong, please) it appears as if Pini redrew Triton's face to make it appear more Elfquest-like! In fact, were it not for the face, I don't believe I'd EVER have guessed Wendy Pini as the artist here. Congratulations on this really lovely addition, CAB!
Many thanks, Rubén. There is a smidgen of whiteout on the face so there was at least a little adjustment. One thing, however, is clear: there is an overall Wendy Pini feel to the entire page and I agree that the face does make a big difference.
Neat, different and beautiful!
Many thanks, Nick. Yes, this is so different from the way in which Triton has been portrayed by other Marvel artists. Wendy definitely imparted her style on this character in this piece.
Congrats on sucha great addition!
Many thanks, Jason. I trust that you are keeping well.
Sucha graceful line to make Triton look so at ease with powering through the swim to crack through the panel border! Aquaman could have benefited from this Wendy Pini fantasy vision.
Many thanks, Marcus. I never quite understood the general negativity towards Aquaman but it is so strong that perhaps even a Wendy Pini take on him might not have helped!
Wow! I had forgotten that Wendy did art for Marvel! Great pick up!
Many thanks, Miki. I had forgotten too until this piece came up for auction.
I'm Elfquest all the way but her art is so good and it's indeed super fun to see these early raritities pop up.
Yes, it is. As mentioned, there is very much an Elfquest vibe here.
Love it!
Many thanks, Duke. Do take care.
Wow. Here is something you don't see everyday: Pini original art. Excellent page! Congrats!
Many thanks, Steve. I trust that you are keeping well.
I had no idea- great stuff!
Many thanks, Kirk. As I also mentioned, I had no idea too. But what a wonderful job she did with this particular piece!
Such a wonderful addition to a spectacular collection. Congrats my friend.
Thanks so much, Jordan, for your very kind words. Do take care, my friend.
This is GREAT! I really didn't know Wendy for art outside of her own series and this proves how good she really was.
Many thanks, Jeff. I also didn't really know this and am very pleasantly surprised by the wonderful quality of this piece. Do take care.
