DescriptionStaying armored here. Last week, Victor, this week, Tony! In my favorite modern Iron Man armor, the Bleeding Edge armor, as rendered by Brian Level. I saw some of Brian’s pieces online, was impressed with his grey tones, then thought it would be cool to see said tones on some sheeny armor. I also had this armor version on my open commission idea list, soooo…match made!See all the levels (pun!) of grey, with some black shading, and pops of white to get that shine. I like it on the faceplate the most, followed by left art arm. Nice “blast off” effects around the legs, with the swirling smoke surrounding. GOOD stuff. Was thinking about maybe getting some flat colors done digitally or on a printed copy - interested to see what that may look like with all that rendering that’s already there. We’ll see. Thanks, BL! I'm gonna level with you here ... Brian Level is an outstanding artist! He obviously did his level best to create a fantastic illustration of Iron Man. :-) Congrats!

Oh, I see what he did here...I see what he did! You see now, Brian here, what he did was, he took this one to the HNL. He took it to a hoe, nubba, lebbo!

This is what Eddie had in mind when he wrote Eruption.

Five, six
Five, six, seven, eight
I could be the one, in your illustration
It's all in my head but in art collection
I don't want the world, but this take is edgy
Who can blame a girl? Tony's hot, not pretty
KG, do you like this Bleed? (Na-na-na-na, na)
I made it for your armory (na-na-na-na, na)
It's like a hundred ninety-nine degrees (na-na-na-na, na)
When you wash and ink with me, wash and ink with me (na-na-na-na, na)
H-O-T-T-O-G-O
Snap on Cap and blast on home
Raise your hands, now red and gold
Brian's art, drawn hot to go
H-O-T-T-O-G-O
Snap and clap and brush and tones
Raise your hands, now white speckles
H-O-T-T-O-G-O
H-O-T-T-O-G-O
You can take me hot Level

Great foresight seeing how well his grey tones would work with the armor, because they work remarkably well. Love what Level is doing and the thought that went into the commission subject definitely paid off with this piece.

Sweet! Yup, Tony never has to worry about getting his armor dirty... Not when the washes are -this- good! Terrific grey tones and sense of fluid motion here. Really nice piece, and now I'd love to see what Brian would do with other armor designs! :)
