DescriptionORIGINAL ART DRAWN BY JOHN ROMITA, SCAN COLORED BY ME.(I DON'T OWN THE ORIGINAL ART) Well, I haven't colored a scan in a while, so I took a stab at this iconic cover. John Romita really was a legend. He drew or provided layout for soo many amazing covers. In addition to the books he was the penciler on he also designed characters and served as Art Director during in my opinion the most vital time in Marvels history. Well this one was tricky mainly due to my lack of variety of colors. Normally I work with Alcohol markers but my Simpsons Yellow Marker dried up 1/3 of the way through. I was able to transition over to PrismaColor Pencils. The Yellow matched very well. The background was done over completely in colored pencil. The Title was originally done with Alcohol markers but I darkened it with color pencils as well. Unfortunately I don't have color pencils to color skin. I tried it with Aunt Mae but it didn't work. Ended up erasing it and going with Alcohol markers. All the faces are colored with Alcohol Markers. The small Spider-Man at the top is colored with Alcohol Markers. I can't tell that there are two types of colors used. It a great job blending them together to make us not notice on this highly familar image.
