Probably Cassaday's best work!
One of the best. Thanks for posting it.
As good as his X-Men run was, Planetary will forever be the book I associate with Cassaday's peak work. Such a great cover right here, man. I'm envious!
A fine example
Where the Warren Ellis writing and the John Cassaday art made this series legendary! An iconic cover that will only be more recognized going forward as the collected edition will bring the artwork to a wider audience.
Beautiful cover. Sad event.
Gorgeous. RIP John. His work will live on forever.
Iconic (design) work. What a series. What an artist.
Agreed that was peak Cassaday. The series will remain a classic, a must have for all lovers of the comic medium
Great artist and this is a perfect example of that. I don't understand why they didn't make this work a TV series... it would be an absolute must !!
What a fantastic cover, and sadly appropriate, with Casssady having modeled The Drummer after himself. Thanks for sharing!
He wowed me with Astonishing X-Men, but it might be Planetary that I treasure the most about John's work. Congrats on picking up a lovely cover of the trio, and thanks for sharing this.
Another gone too early. We'll all continue to be appreciators of his work and contributions to the medium. Great example here, Jay. RIP JC.
Wow! Gorgeous cover by John Cassaday for Absolute Planetary 2! Planetary was one of John Cassaday's best works, along with Absolute X-Men, and its one of the things he will be most remembered for. Jaohn was a phenomenally talented artist whose life was cut too short. But he will be remembered by all of us who love comic art. This is a classic example of his work, a great addition to your collection!
So smooth and well done...godspeed
