Startling illustration! The lines go 90 dregrees to the main ripple lines and it's the main way Finlay defines the drawing. A work of excellence that transcends any genre.

Finlay's hatch work is incredible here. I keep seeing the early pulp Lone Ranger depiction mask and all. Beautiful pickup.
