All-Star Comics Annual #5, homage to Justice League Of America #27 (2018)

Fifth in my series imagining what might have happened if DC had opted to give the JSA their own yearly title when the company revived their Annuals in the early 1980s, notwithstanding that the Justice Society weren't appearing (other than in the JLA/JSA team-ups) at that time, since All-Star Comics had been cancelled in the late 1970s. This time, the 1986 Annual, art by Mike Walters (doing his first piece for me), adapted from the David Williams cover to Justice Leagiue Of America #27 (2018).

With the Crisis On Infinite Earths raging, time is thrown out of joint - and Per Degaton attacks and defeats the Justice Society! Only an unlikely assemblage of past JSA members drawn from across the decades - Batman from the early 1940s, Black Canary from the later 1940s, before she officially joined the team, Wonder Woman from the 1950s, Red Tornado and the Thunderbolt from the 1960s, and Mr Terrific and the Spectre from the 1970s - can hope to free their teammates and defeat Degaton!

Mike won the 2000AD Talent Search at Thought Bubble in 2022, and is now a regular contributor to 2000AD, but I think this is his first commission starring DC characters - and he did a great job! As he lives locally to me, I hope it won't be the last thing he does for me.
