DescriptionThis was consigned to a recent Heritage Signature auction, from the Novick Family Collection, where it hammered super-cheap (yeah!). Written 'Capt. Storm cover'in blue pencil by Novick in the top right area of the page, it's unpublished but probably intended for issue #19 of the Capt. Storm series, which was cancelled after 18 issues. A little dog-eared and trimmed to the image area, but a 1960's large art DC war cover with a cool action image is a treasured thing regardless of condition.Social/Sharing |

The war genre was a big part of the DC line and often overlooked compared to the fantasy superhero books. What can't be overlooked is how Novick uses the same gritty action he would later use on Batman to ground the stories in reality.

Fantastic addition. Great action and use of perspective.
