Description
Punisher #81 Pg. 6
Art by Hoang Nguyen
Written by Steven Grant
Lettering by Ken Lopez

The Punisher #81 story, "Bodies Of Evidence", continues!!

Sgt. Cordover and Officer Luis Generes check out Frank Castle's hideout, get his health drink cocktail recipe, and find sand bags but not many forensic clues, while they continue to try and investigate the case and whereabouts of Punisher. The nice Hoang Nguyen inking is displayed here regardless of it being one of the lower key and quieter pages in the book.

This page doesn't have Punisher on it, but a few of the previous pages I posted to this gallery folder in the Punisher #81 story do, which I recently updated all the scans for in higher resolution and better DPI, as well as the 2 cover homage commissions I've shared previously.

Compelling style from an artist who didn't too much in comics that I can find. I forgot to do any research on Nguyen the last time you posted a page by him but this time I was able to find a Kickstarter that he did recently. You can see some similarities even though he went in another direction stylistically. Good to see he stuck with comics in some capacity.

I don't care that Punisher isn't on the page. I'm just fascinated by how Nguyen was so clearly influenced by Nowlan and it's fun to see where he gets it "right", which is typically in the faces and head shapes.

Hoang Nguyen at first, had planned out
Got a clue not, Cordova I ain't had nothin'
We done sold out, now everybody sand baggy
Tell 'em roll out, now every protein smashin'
Get Frank in cause you know we 'bout to Lorga problem
Hope you ready cause you know it 'bout to Lorga problem

It's the only way we know Castle
Dug up, never home alone
And we gon' ride on forever
We hide out together
Pull up right in war zone
Take over the street, that's how Nguyen rolls
And we gon' ride on forever
In hide out from Lorga

So Punisher 81 is your trauma issue apparently? ;)

haha how so? Just want to make sure I understand your comment (or joke if it was a joke ha). As an art collector I can say it's sort of traumatic to own a whole story but never having success tracking down the published cover to complete the issue which has been my experience with this issue - traumatic may be an extreme word to use for that though ha.

What I meant is that if you needed to own that full issue and its cover AND are trying to make up for its loss by commissioning artists to recreate it, it seems to me that this very issue LEFT a mark ( or trauma) on your young reader's mind ;)
