Description

�Indescribable.� With that, MODOK summed up the ensuing experience. The house had become a disaster. All the agreements, all the division of chores and scheduling, all the goodwill and intentions, were thrown out the window. Depression set in on MODOK. He�d leave his bedtime t-shirt and sweatpants on all day, bunny slippers as an attempt at comfort, and he didn�t even bother with his hovercraft any longer. He was symbolically grounded. MODOK recalled, �I didn�t know whether to laugh, cry, or kill�it was that confusion that hurt me the most. I�m MODOK! But that thing was so frustrating! Excrement on the furniture, old quills spread out as if hand-placed, empty beer cans pecked through by its nervous beak, hardened pizza crusts with the tomato sauce nearly licked off. I tried the old empty paper bag remedy, but it took the paper bag and placed it upright towards the sofa�s corner in clear defiance. Even the paper bird plates I bought got tossed aside. It was only the coffee that saved me through those absurd times.� Coda revealed, �Why should I be the one to apologize? Why am I always the one to make peace and act like nothing ever happened? I tried every trick in my arsenal to get his attention, but all I got in return was his self-pity. Time seemed to completely stand still. I could only tell that days had passed by the number of wrinkles and size of the bulges below his eyes.�
