Description
Gaze into this beauty! John titled this commission "Penance" and it's everything I could ask for and beyond. More than anything I'm a huge fan of mood and environment in art and this one just drips with both.

John's talent has been evident for a while but he's really cooking at another level right now. DO NOT sleep on him.

Unreal. John is not only at the next level, he's playing a whole different game. The layers of light, the composition, the execution... Flawless Victory!

Holy balls! I'm SO glad you included a big scan because this did not read as a Ghost Rider piece at first. But as soon as I blew it up it became obvious. Ghost Rider tends to be such an "in your face" character that this quieter piece is astounding in its subtlety.

The dark tone and feel of this is incredible. The reflections and low light work remarkably well and make for such an original and unique take. Then we see the Rider and his Hot Wheels, oh my! Too cool.

love the environment (is that the "L.A. River"?) and subtlety of how GR is incorporated into the piece. one of those pieces much better appreciated zoomed in and up close. fantastic work by John!

Sometimes I feel like I don't have Ghost Rider
Sometimes I feel like my only friend
Is the city I live in, the city of angels
L.A. is quiet, Eranga we ride

I drive on sixth street 'cause she's my companion
I walk through her hills 'cause she knows who I am
She sees my good deeds and she kisses me Johnny
Well, I never worry, when it’s his art line

I don't ever want to feel like I did that flame
Take me to the place I love, let me burn away
I don't ever want to feel night has turned to day
Take me to the place I love, Blaze me all the way
Yeah, yeah, yeah

It's hard to believe that there's her body out there
It's hard to believe that we’re all alone
At least I have her love, the city she loves me
Johnny’s an art fan, together we ride

And I don't ever want to feel like I did in flames
Take me to the place I love, take me to the grave
Well, I don't ever want to feel what I did that day
Take me to the place I love, Blaze me all the way

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Oh, no, no, no, yeah, yeah
Love me, I said yeah, yeah

One time
(Under the bridge downtown)
When Amor drew some blood
(Under the bridge downtown)
I could not get enough
(Under the bridge downtown)
Forgot Amor is love
(Under the bridge downtown)
I gave my life away

I'm almost speechless. Hard to believe that a place that looks like a place where people go to kill other people without being seen is one of the most recognized places in America, and Amor rendered it with exquisite detail and precision. This is one of those rare superhero commissions where the character is almost an afterthought. Truly hellacious!

Really? I can't say I've ever heard of any murders there. Given how many people screw each other over in comics/art, I'd guess it was more likely that people off each other at Fan Expo Toronto!
