I haven't read this series yet, but between the art and the strong dialogue from DWJ it looks like something more people should be checking out if they haven't already. Glad you are enjoying and have a strong personal connection to it
My gut tells me, much like DWJ's other stories, this will be a much better read once completed. I'm very much looking forward to a complete reread once the last issue comes out! Its a story that just speaks to me, especiallty in this stage of my life.
It's still early in the story and the parents are still in doubt over what the shaman is telling them, but you can see the desperation in the faces and body language! That panel is left open and free of background so you can focus upon it.
I love when he opts to do those kinds of open panels where he lets the characters themselves convey all of the necessary information in that moment.
Glad you're enjoying this series so much and that it's resonating with you as a parent of young children. I'm not a fan of the fantasy/mystical aspect of it, but I may try this out myself someday.
The dreamworld set scenes are really wild, but I also love the characters that populate that world (for some very story specific reasons). Rossmo's style is a perfect fit for those scenes. I'll definetly let you know if it sticks the landing and is indeed a recommendation.
Haven't heard of this series until seeing you page but now I have to check it out.
It's been an emotional ride, but I'm still enjoying it. It's only going to be a 10 issue story, so it's not a huge commitment!
