BORDER WEAR - OTHERWISE - Excellent condition, see images and ask questions if any. Vintage Joan Hanson Painting - Just timeless and iconic! A fantastic image in near-perfect condition. Author and illustrator Joan Hanson was born June 25, 1938, in Appleton, WI. She received a B.A. from Carleton College in 1960. In the 1960s, prior to writing children's books, she worked as a lab technician in New England and as a cancer research laboratory technician at the University of Minnesota. Her first children's book, The Monster's Nose Was Cold was published in 1970. Hansen's work was showcased extensively in the 1970s in children's books, calendars, playing cards, greeting cards, wall plaques, coffee mugs, and on and on... Her multimedia work always reminded me of Eric Carle. This is the image as it appeared in the calendar for Brown and Bigelow. Truly, just an extraordinary image and a classic example of her work from this key period as an artist. This has been in storage for just a couple of years short of 50 years. It has never been offered publicly anywhere ever, and this is new-to-market art by this classic artist in exceptional condition and ready for relocation to your home. It's in fantastic condition with very nominal blemishes. This artist's work is impossible to find in the wild. The University of Minnesota has a small collection of her works, but they are scarce to impossible anywhere else. This opportunity is unique. Be sure to save this auction and continue to watch my offerings! I pay for the shipping and delivery. I use fresh foam-core, tracked, insured, signature confirmation! I am a JEDI-level shipper.
