The Legion of the Weird!
written by Arnold Drake

The tale starts out quite banally, as Ace is all dressed up to go out on his date.
However, he is soon felled by an evil witch and her cohorts who call themselves the Legion of the Weird.
I have always been a fan of the Challengers, created by Kirby and possibly his inspiration for the Fantastic Four.

Nice title page! I love the lettering, especially on The Challengers of the Unknown logo in the top panel.

I've never read Challengers of the Unknown, but everything I've ever read seems to indicate that the idea for the Fantastic Four was absolutely taken from Challengers.

I'm hearing strangers go Unknown while I'm brushing my teeth
I get so many death threats Witch's getting normal to me
But it’s friends on dates, I don't ask, just Ace
Jack loves, Showcase and I got Arnold Drake
Paid up and take their diss, I hear 'em sharpening knives
Main focus every page is make it out here alive
Take a silver age of books and go to sleep in my shoes
Last night I had a dream Professor ran in my room
Trying to be patient but doctor I can't wait
On the case to feel up the panties and beat Ryan’s face
So when they ask me how I feel about 'em I can't say
You either with me, or against me, or you are my date
I got a dance of ugly moves and ink Mike don't feed em
Then they might turn on me, feel like I don't Legion
I keep the best Jack Kirby but hell I don't Weird em
It's a lot of people Challenge me and I can't blame em
They call me Haley so much, I think I'm starting to believe em
I did some things to some people that Bob Brown might pencil
Is it karma coming back to me, so much drama
My own tailor turned her back on me, and that's a favor
I got three people close to me like all brothers
Ten years later still don't know dress up my Grandpa
But I bend Unknown break, I got Arnold Drake
Jack loves a Showcase, Grandpa’s on a first date
