This was at the height of Superman popularity with Christopher Reeve movies putting a public face to the comics. This was probably the second most widespread way Superman appeared in public view during that time period with daily adventures.
Great example of the classic Superman transformation! I loved this strip.
Tuska was such a great fit for this strip--love it!
