Description
First time seeing Howard as Iron Man, and the first appearance of 6160/Ultimate Tony Stark. A cool detail, but this page recreates the page Bryan did from his OG Ultimates #2. I included an additional pic of that page to compare.
I love and collect both Jonathan Hickman and Donny Cates' work. Cates was supposed to be the writer for Ultimate Invasion, but after his car accident the work was passed to Hickman. That connection alone had me excited, but after following this new 6160 Ultimate universe I had to find at least one piece to bring home. I've loved the whole ride so far, and can't wait to see where it goes, And even if it all craps out in the end I've enjoyed every moment making these purchases worth it to me. It's been a great two years!
I've been looking for Ultimate Invasion pages, but wasn't 100% sure about the few available pages that Bill had listed. I saw the amazing piece that Stingray has, and even though it wasn't for sale he mentioned in the description he had picked it up during an interview and sale with Bryan Hitch on CAL. I found the video he was talking about, watched it, and heard Bill mention that if there was something I was interested in, that wasn't listed, to contact him. Bill sent me a list of 36 available pages that were left, and we worked out a deal for 18 of them. What was amazing is they're all pages I assumed were gone as, at the time of my inquiry, it had been four months since the live stream/sale had taken place.
This was by far the largest single art transaction I've done to date, and it wouldn't have been possible without the timed payment option. Thank you Bill and Bryan for working with me!
Note from Bill regarding Bryan's work: Sometimes rough blue lines might be printed onto the board, but Bryan always finishes his pages with blue or standard graphite pencil and inks. These pages are not blue line inking.
