1ST EPISODE! 1968 UP ANCHOR BY KREIGH COLLINS ORIGINAL ART SUNDAY NEWSPAPER COMIC STRIP PAGE

Here is an incredible rarity - the chance to buy the Original Artwork to the very first episode of a syndicated newspaper comic strip. This is the Original Art to the introduction Sunday of Up Anchor! from November 3, 1968. It is a nice large piece at approximately 17" by 25" for the entire board, but please note as you can see in the picture, it does have condition issues. The board is very tanned, and there is wear around the edges, along with some staining (mostly around the edges). There is also a fair amount of whiteout used throughout the piece. This is a rare opportunity to own not only the first strip, but a really great example with excellent imagery and introductions to the characters. It's a great piece of comic strip history from the 1960's. This is an exceptional and unbelievably rare piece of artwork, that would look fantastic framed and prominently displayed, and would be a true key piece in any collection.
