Great early Charest splash when it was exciting to watch him branch out of Wildstorm. And oh, GLCQ offered some great quality material.
(Welcome back Michael ;)
Charest did the greatest page I'll ever own
Can't live for Omoto, Omoto's much too strong
I'll burn my line out
Before art sells out
I wanted more
Than life could power grant green
More by the Corp
Of saving page
Charest did the greatest page I've ever owned
Can't wait for tomorrow, I might not have that goal
I'll tear my art out
Before I sell out
Ring giveth scars that never forget
I auctioned hard to cleanse these regrets
My art listings were bruised and restrained
MacCarthy inks
Charest did
Charest did
Today's the greatest day, ooh
Ooh, yeah, yeah, ooh
Billy Corgan recently claimed on Howie Mandel's podcast that one of the Guardians of the Universe is his illegitimate half-brother.
A very nice, early Charest page. If it wasn't for the lantern emblem on her boob though, I'd think she was Psylocke! Congratulations on doing a fine job curating your collection, Michael, and welcome back to posting NFS art!
Thanks! Good observation about Psylocke - no doubt Jim Lee had a similar view since Charest ended up at Wildstorm a short time later.
Bring on The Bangers!
If by Bangers you mean prelims of rejected Sad Sack strips, you won't be disappointed!
Congrats on all the sales! I know that must have been a ton of work. I know I greatly appreciated the opportunity to buy some very nice pieces from you. Speaking of nice pieces, this one is STUNNING!! Laira Omoto is ooh lala, Travis's level of detail is nutso cuckoo and the inking is WOWIE WOW! Looking forward to more posts from you now that you are back to sharing your personal collection again.
Thanks, Paul! You were easily one of the best people who I dealt with while selling art!
A remarkable early find by a true master of the industry! Congrats!!
I am happy you cleaned house and are finished selling but tell me you hung onto your AT&T rollover minutes.
I'm a total Nextel man, even if that means my phone hasn't been able to connect to a network for a decade.
Welcome back Michael, this is a wonderful way to get back into posting on CAF. Congrats.
Good to see you back with a personal collection post, and this is a very nice one. Beautiful splash by Charest. Congrats man!
Stunning!
Sweet story, great page.
Sweet!!
Nice story man! Charest is an amazing artist!
Really great piece here; big fan of the Green Lantern lore!
This really "smells" like early 1990s :) Very nice and well detailed piece, congrats, may evildoers beware in this galaxy!
Wow that's a great splash page!
Doing Jim Lee better than Jim Lee! Loved Charest early work and this is a stunning example!
Gives all those great 1990s vibes. As a thumbnail, you can see this is great art. Congratz
