Description

This is the original vintage cover painting, the illustration created for the historical romance novel by Valerie Fitzgerald, published by Corgi in paperback 1981. (I show the published cover for reference) The story is set in India before and during the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857 - and the painting depicts the grandeur of what amounted to fiefdoms during that time period. Handpainted in acrylic and gouache on illustration board, in panoramic format, 14.25" x 20". Comes with a label mounted to the reverse of the painting, attesting authenticity from the Estate.
