This is STUNNING, Chris - an unbelievable add! I truly think that being able to display -any- page from this project would be something to crow about, but to show such a key, indelible moment from the series (and one centered around a favorite character!) is really, really special. And the page is dripping with that McNiven flair, too, locking into not only the power (and sincerity!) of the violence on the page, but capturing the emotional timbre as well: the look of shock/horror/GENUINE anger on Cap's face in panel 1, the detail on Frank's weapons (along with Frank's body language), Frank's stubble in panel 2... I feel like we rarely see Cap uncentered and out of control emotionally, but this is one of those times, where his heartbreak, disappointment, and outrage at Frank's choice on the previous couple pages gets the better of him and he expresses his displeasure in the only language Frank will understand... Just fantastic, powerful storytelling.
And adding Mark Morales's brilliant inks on top of that is just cheating, right? Panel 1's spatter of blood adds an splash of anarchic energy to the almost fine art-level of detail of McNiven's pencils (and bright white background)... and that gorgeous shield in panel 2 (on the solid black background)... McNiven and Morales have a powerhouse right that rivals Cap's.
Titanic add, Chris - what a pick up! HUGE congrats!
