DescriptionLooking to watch the new FF movie soon and thought I’d post this piece featuring the heart and soul o ‘the team, Mr. Benjamin J. Grimm aka the Thing, and vs the Hulk! Commissioned from Kevin Catalan a couple Heroes Cons ago but I’m just getting to posting. He took a tad longer to finish it than expected and subsequently just decided to up the size from 9x12 (which I paid for) to 11x17 – what a dude :)Corner to corner catastrophic goodness – see that background. Reminds me of 2 Hulk vs Thing comics I flipped through all the time as a kid: Marvel Fanfare #21 and FF #320. Like scenes from both of those books, looks here like they’re falling down a crumbling building, and Hulk lays a right that whiffs…Ben stays calm and got his right counter locked and ready to unload. High energy and love all the gritty detail. Check out the movement lines and splotchy accents on Hulk’s right arm, and there’s lots more of that detail throughout. Thanks, Kevin! Social/Sharing |

Love the energy here! The Hulk portrait reminds me of Sal Buscema's from the Crossroads storyline so this is all kinds of wonderful. Too bad poor Ben's about to get clobbered.

But who has the biggest shoe size!? Haha nice Hulk vs Thing battle piece, Kevin's energetic and frenetic style works well for what would be a chaotic encounter no matter the setting between these two!

Catalan fills the page with two behemoths as the debris flies! The size and scale is spot on here too. I think we all know the green one wins, right? Great dynamic versus action from Kevin on this one!

A nice, energetic piece with a very indy look to it! Too bad you won't be seeing this scene in the Fantastic Four movie! If they can just get it right, and als oget the Hulk right, that would be one of the coolest scenes in any superhero movie ever!

I can see all those names, Marc! F M (F M our fellow collector who commented above, not the FM you mentioned, lol) also mentioned Pope, as well as Harren, and Paul Brzegowy mentioned DWJ...I can seem those others, too! The common theme?! ENERGY and bold ink work!
