Secret Wars was the perfect masterful conclusion of Jonathan Hickman initial run at Marvel. What started in the pages of Fantastic Four, reached its zenith in Avengers to finally crumble down in Secret Wars. Literally. The Marvel Universe restarted and the fantastic Four ceased to exist after that...for a while. Ten years later and I cannot imagine anyone else than Esad Ribic to draw this book. The characters 'emotion, the action sequences, the quiet moments. Everything is drawn with perfect purpose. Proving that Esad is not just a cover painter but a storyteller. On this page he captured the 2 Reed's dynamic so well. One second they are working together to solve a mystery and the next, the Maker backstabbed Mr. Fantastic in a time bubble. And look at the panel with God Emperor Doom dropping the hand of God on the Human Torch and Black Panther with the infinity gauntlet. Such a powerful image!
