Wonderous fantasy illustration. Zulli uses the contrast of rough pencils for Swamp thing and the light refinement used for Abby to have a more timeless down to Earth natural tone to the piece.
Beautiful, strong composition and balance here; I especially love how Michael uses the eraser marks in the bottom right to give the feel of more fauna without losing the focus of the piece by drowning it in detail (but then counterpointing it with the branches in the upper left). Spectacular! And 11x17?!? Wow, Indy - beauty!
