I was probably not in the original demographic for the wonderful Adventure Time cartoon but, thankfully, my stepson was and we watched much of the series together over the years. The series was a showcase for some top-notch world-building and humor and made me wish there had been cartoons like it when I was growing up.

In the time since the series ended, there have been a number of alternate universe takes on Adventure Time and its characters. Many of these alternative Adventure Time series explore character pairings and themes that were heavily hinted at in the show. Cash's Adventure Time special explores an alternate universe where Princess Bubblegum and Marlene attend college together (along with Finn and Jake) and maybe, just maybe, fall in love.

Happy to have picked up a page that spotlights both Marceline, shredding on her axe in the moonlight, and Princess Bubblegum. Forget Bennifer....long live Bubbline!
