Description

Tony illustrated this piece to be the cover for the Batman: Life After Death TPB, but an existing cover image was used instead. I recently reached out to Tony and he confirmed this. Tony added that this was definitely intended to be a published cover and that he did not do this level of detail for his commissions. He even labeled this one "unpublished trade cover."

Very cool illustration with the Wayne family and the Flying Graysons in the background. Bruce and Dick are forever haunted by their tragic pasts, but Batman looks pretty composed here.

Sweet Tony Daniel Batman cover (published or not!). The extended draped cape and flying bats set a strong foundation for the image, and the highly detailed background elements from Gotham and the Circus nods to both the past of Bruce and Dick (especially as Dick had taken on the mantle of Batman at this time) are really well done. Awesome addition dude!

Well balanced composition echo the balance of Batman and Robin's origins that is at the core of this never ending fight against crime.
