Action Comics #796 p.2-3

Sure, the wall length is enormus, but the width of the room was that of a hallway.  Sort of the like the image area of this DPS.  Superman fans don't want to be compared to Batman fans, so Hush has no meaning to them.

Personally, and I know I'm in the minority, I thought Hush blew. But since this is Superman's Hush for YOU, then I genuinely congratulate you for landing a double page splash from it, man!

I am also in the minority with you. However, Ending Game does what Hush set out to do *collect all of the hero's villains and have him battle them all Game of Death-style, testing him not only physically but ideologically as well* + "have a multi-issue running mystery about the identity of the main villain behind the entire series of events", only it was actually well-written, had a decent set-up for the mystery (spoilers it's Manchester Black, not Kareem Abdul-Jabbar!) and didn't include Batman as one of those villains.

Oh, really? Well then welcome to the club! YOu make this story sound very interesting, so even though I wasn't reading comics when this came out, I'd like to try it. I don't care that I already know who the surprise villain is Manchester Black. In fact, I'd never even heard of him until he appeared on television and thought he was created FOR television. So I would say that if I'm going to try reading it, it's probably even for the best that I already know to expect him tobe the big reveal. Because if I just went in completely blind only to have him be revealed as a surprise, I'd be much more likely to be disappointed that the big villain ended up being "that guy from the tv show". In those circumstances it may as well be Kareem Abdul-Jabbar!

Nice Title DPS! I guess everyone lives beyond their means in Metropolis. Now that I already know the reveal of Manchester Black as the villain pulling the strings the whole time, I probably will never read it though Derek, thanks!!! lol. ;-p - not a massive Hush fan myself either (enjoyed the Jim Lee art, but the Loeb writing/story has not held up for me on subsequent readings over the years). 

I listen to you Derek. Now what were you saying again? Well I have no idea what you're ranting about, but this is a great looking DPS. Congrats!

Wow - there's a beautifully executed weight to the piece, Derek - exactly as intended, obviously...  The intense black framing (plus the use ofthe portion of wall Superman is standing in front of to pop him out), the EKG readings over that dire title, the only dialogue (that bold-type pronouncement of Lois's demise) floating there, unmissable in all the white space...  a superb execution that immediately sucks the reader in and sets up the stakes perfectly.  And I'm a huge fan of pages that effortlessly move the viewer's eye in a direction contrary to the usual top to bottom, left to right.  This one takes you bottom to top, right to left, further (and subliminally) underscoring to the reader just how upside down this moment and situation is.  GREAT storytelling!!  Congrats on this pickup, Derek!  It's a beauty!

Nice backwards glance, and some unusual perspective. There is some lovely design to this.

Gorgeous DPS by Duncan Rouleau and Marlo Alquiza! Love the POV here with Superman looking back over his shoulder at Manchester Black. Superman looks genuinely surprised--shocked even--by Manchester's declaration that Lois is dead. Love the EKG readings just above the story title, suggesting that Lois may, indeed, be alive. It's a beautifully designed DPS that really packs a punch!

Not THAT's a title DPS!  Great depth, great Supes, and I love how that lifeline establishes the border between the splash and the lettering.  Congrats!
