Description

I knew this piece was big when I bid on it, but only after it arrived did I understand the enormity of it. It is like taping 2 twice up pages together.

For a long time I thought - I don't need Vampirella art in my collection. Then for the past couple of years I have been thinking, I would love to have some Vampirella art. (Have you ever changed your mind with your collecting?) Especially have fond memories of art from the Harris days. Louis Small Jr. and Buzz are 2 artists whose Vampi work I have been keeping an eye out for (if you have some to sell, let me know).

At any rate, this humongous (four up?) cover showed up recently and hit the spot.

As always, thank you for taking time to check out my gallery.

I guess we're polar opposites. You always loved Raskin's art and until I saw this piece 3 months ago, I'd never even heard of Jordan Raskin.

So long ago, I don't remember when
That's when they say I lost my only fans
Well they said she died Vampi of a Warren art disease
As it glistened with the Harris memories

I seen the sun coming up at the fumes of Drakulon
Belong Raskin art and Louis Small
Now it always seemed such a waste, she always had a pretty face
So I wondered why she Buzzed around this place

Hey

Come on, try a little
Raskin did this cover
There's got to be something bigger than
It's a double
But me and Vampirella
We'll bid it all together
We blood drive it home
With one eye sight

One of the problems with very large art is that beyond a certain size, a scan alone cannot show viewers the power it projects from its size alone. This is the kind of piece everyone needs to see in person for its size to really make an impression on them. I'm glad I got the chance to do that. Mike Bair, eat your heart out!

I don't really care how big the art board is as this is a really cool cover no matter the size...

She's a looker.  Love the details and the layout.  Congrats on owning a one of a kind Vampirella 'movie poster'.

Great composition. I love the line effects - somewhere between lightning and shattered glass. Great cover!

Wow!  In order to recreate the intensity the size of this piece must broadcast when seeing it in person, I took my iPad and added three others to it to gawk over the 4x scale... Well, I didn't really do that, but IMAGINED I did...! :)  And as if the size wasn't enough, the crazy energy careening around this thing has got to hit the viewer hard enough to leave a bruise.  With the razor-thin lines (they're probably thicker at scale?), dollops of feathered brushwork, and lithe Vampirella this has a distinct Jae Lee feel to me - super, super cool, Duke.  Another beautiful add!

I am always changing my mind with my collecting.  Man, this cover must be EPIC in person, especially being frice-up!  (I figured that after 'once, twice and thrice' you'd have 'frice,' though it doesn't quite follow the pattern).   I love this image!  Major congrats.

The worst part when your tastes change and you grow to appreciate something you previously ignored is that you inevitibly look back on those opportunites that you missed out on.  I'm glad you were able to get this one.  If you're going to build a Vampirella collection it's off to a great start.
