Original Illustration Art - Giuseppe Festino (Italian, * 1943).

Centerfold illustration of Robot #11 (pages 102-103). The magazine was published in February 1977 and is dated 1976 and signed.

Ink on illustration paper. Size: 19.5 x 13.75 in.

Robot, subtitled Science Fiction Magazine, is an Italian science fiction magazine founded in 1976 by Vittorio Curtoni. Published by the Armenia publishing house until its closure in 1979, it was refounded in 2003, continuing the previous numbering and is now published by Delos Books.Robot published 27 issues, arriving at issues 28/29 (two issues were double), and then changed formula, making each issue centered on a thematic anthology, edited by Giuseppe Lippi. With issue 40, released in 1979, the magazine ceased publication.

Giuseppe Festino is an italian professional illustrator who started to work in the 1960s.The 1980s and 1990s marked a pivotal era for Festino�s career as he received notable commissions to design covers for URANIA, one of Italy�s leading science fiction series. Utilizing acrylic paints, he maintained a stylistic continuity with previous artists while infusing his unique flair into each cover. He also illustrated many covers of the Italian ROBOT series.

Like Doctor Frankenstein working with robotics to bring forth the most complex artificial ebing yet. Speak to the horrors of today's Ai arms race that has no end.
