Description

Kazu Kibuishi, the creator of the terrific all-ages series Amulet and the editor of the Flight anthology, made an appearance this year at The Eastern Rim Funny Book and Vintage Con in Baytown, TX. It was, I think, his first comic con and I hope not his last.

I asked for a sketch in my Miscellaneous sketchbook and he was very willing to do it.

Based on that, I decided to press my luck and ask if he'd be willing to create a faux Sugar and Spike 100 cover for me. He was game. I sent him my usual write-up and he agreed. The piece arrived in short order. I was thrilled then and now.

Kazu skills are top notch and his character is every bit as good. I'm glad I was able to meet him.
