I guess I was still looking for a little more red in my sketch card binder, because the day after I commissioned that Princess Projectra card from Jeff, I asked him for this one: Kinetix in her original costume! She wore it for about a year's worth of comics, but after losing and then regaining her powers, all of her subsequent costumes were green. I do think green was the more flattering colour on her, but I always did like this original red version. I remember reading someone's comment in the Legionnaires lettercolumn, telling the editor that this costume made Zoe look like a big tomato and suggesting they change it, and being very offended on Zoe's behalf. So, here she is, bright red and proud of it!

I really like that Jeff chose to draw her flying, with her hair flowing in the wind. Most of Zoe's costumes after this one had her hair much longer, and always flowing like it was caught in a supernatural breeze, so this card feels like a fun nod to things to come. I also love all the layers of colour Jeff put into her hair and the pale yellow parts of her uniform, and of course, you've got to love her adorable little Legion symbol hairband!

Red and green make a good combo here, and the blue sky and white clouds ain't bad either. That Legion logo headband is as adorable as Zoe is!

The short cropped hair makes her more kinetic and ready for action! I gotta say that the Legion logo headband is a great fashion accessory that cosplayers should wear.

I do find myself wishing DC had made an official version of that headband! It would be more unique and eye-catching than a shirt.
