Perfect Tan example! Venom 2099 is so menacing!
So, now there's a new character who looks exactly like Venom but with glowing eyes and they call him Symbiote Spider-Man? Whatever the case may be, my money is on the Venom looking guy!

Ouch. The barbed wire looks nasty. Tricky to predict how this plays out, but a nice, dynamic composition for this cover.
Nice Tan cover and pretty killer image of Venom 2099 especially as this brutal battle rages on! Random obervation but sometimes with Tan's work I find it hard to see the full picture of the image clearly (because it's always so detailed and busy) until I take a quick peak over at the published version with the colors, then I go look back at the art and it's like an "aha!" moment where I can appreciate the whole thing.
I totally agree. His images can get quite busy. That's why I decided to picture this particular cover next to the published comic. The colors really help.

I agree with you--Philip Tan's work rocks! And I don't know why he isn't more appreciasted. Maybe it;s because there's so much detail in his work that the overall image is obscured, as Kavi suggests. But hey--Philip can draw ANYTHING! And he suire doesn't spare the ink! Anyway, great pick-up, coingrats!
