World's Greatest Comics Magazine #4 - Captain America, Falcon & Thing BATTLE ACTION!

This is absolutely the closest I will ever come to owning a beautiful prime Fantastic Four page by Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnott - it ticks ALL the boxes!

From the iconic 6 panel Kirby grid, to two epic panels with Cap bustin'out and bustin' up a towering Kirby-tech robot, Falcon punching up with the force of a grenade to the face, AIM goons by the bushel and that GLORIOUS final panel of Aunt Petunia's favourite blue-eyed boy Ben Grimm yelling as he flies towards us from a cloud of Kirby Crackle...this one has it ALL, True Believer!

WGCM was a brilliant 12 issue limited series published in the very early 'noughties and shaped around the premise that Stan Lee and Jack Kirby had never left the book. A host of artists such as Bruce Timm, John Romita Jr, Steve Rude, Ron Frenz, Dan Jurgens and Jorge Lucas paying homage to the skills, energy and bombastic dymanism of King Kirby on pencils, with Bruce Timm and Joe Sinnot on inks.

Much as I love Bruce Timm's work - and it absolutely fits the vibe of this wonderfully nostalgia-drenched project - my favourite pages are the Frenz/Sinnott ones, as they could 100% pass as Kirby/Sinnott pages from back in the day.
