Loved the comic. This art makes me think of the Star Trek mirror universe episode with evil.Spock and Kirk. It wasn't just the outfits and the goatees. The lighting from below really creates a menacing mood.
Great series and great representative piece!
This was always top of the reading pile when it was coming out, and it's still a fun re-read especially to better appreciate Cassaday's art evolve so quickly in the series. Great team shot Chirs, congrats!
Great pick up!!
This is such a wonderful piece.
I never read the title, only jumping in on The Authority a few years after it ended, but was told that this was a good series, too. I loved seeing this at auction. The lighting technique on this piece is so outstanding!
Just looking at this I could SWEAR I saw this before as a promo ad piece. Or this could be the comics version of the Mandala Effect...
Either way, killer piece!
Just fantastic with the lighting and camera angle from below! Cassaday's major breakthrough series!
A classic representation of one of my all time fav series by its co-creator. The joy Cassaday had with these characters is always evident.
So you got it! I boys very heavily on this one. As well as all the covers lol
As others have said - a great viewing angle from below. Nice lighting as well. Did 'The Drummer' get his name from drinking heavily and driving expensive cars into swimming pools?
A fantastic Cassaday Planetary image!!! Hope you track down the ad usage but it's top notch art from John with incredible lighting no matter what. congrats!
The comic was so good, intelligent writing and stunning art. This is a great testament to that series
Fantastic piece.
Great piece Chris!
A great piece to commemorate a fantastic series. Congrats and thanks for sharing.
Historic and gorgeous! Congrats Chris!
