Description
This pinup was published as a house ad in Image Comics to advertise the Spawn / Chapel crossover that took place in Chapel #5 (October, 1995). It was also run as an advertisement in Previews Magazine.

Chapel (Bruce Stinson) first appeared as a member of Youngblood in Rob Liefeld's Youngblood #1 (1992). Scarier and more over-the-top than Cable ever was! He was later introduced into the Spawn universe and revealed to be Al Simmons' (Spawn's) killer. Why does Chapel appear to wear a mask? Well that's because Spawn cut his face off so he grafted a skull onto his face. Let's just say these two have some history.

This is one of Spawn's early team-ups and this is the image that promoted the crossover. In some ways I miss the '90s. This nonsensical cheese is a big part of what made that era so great!

Sick! Big gunbig gunsImage charaxter crossovers90s comic ad and promo images are more memorable than the actual comics themselves! Great hit of nostalgia from that period. Congrats!

Originally a member of Rob Liefeld's Youngblood (X-Force rip-off), Chapel was basically the Extreme Studios equivalent of Cable. He also had his own short-lived series in the '90s.

If those Marvel comparisons don't work enough for you, just think of Chapel as a Captain America villain from the Image universe. Perhaps a combination of Red Skull and Cable, but with a dark Image twist.

Ninetys ninetys ninetys!  A hero pair for the times.  Definitely did the job of hyping us for what's coming.  Congrats!
