Captain America Vol.5 #23 Title Splash by Mike Perkins (2006)

Such a beautiful title page splash from the Ed Brubaker run by Mike Perkins. A Civil War tie-in, the lettering of the story title was drawn into the side of the building, very reminiscent of Will Eisner or Jim Steranko. We had Mike on the show and he talked about how this was one of his favorite opening sequences he drew on Cap. He shared he was so thrilled, that he was giggling while drawing it. So, when this popped up on my alerts, I immediately made an offer because, not only it is a very cool title splash of the Winter Soldier breaking into a S.H.I.E.L.D. building, but I love the story behind it and the joy it brought the artist, which translated onto the page.
