Porco Rosso

A pre-commissioned piece from FACTS Spring 2026. I gave David my usual request of "Hayao Miyazaki, artist's choice" along with a link to my Miyazaki gallery on CAF, but didn't actually know what he'd picked until he pulled out this beauty at the con.

He told me he didn't want to take the perhaps easy/obvious route for him by picking Totoro, even though I didn't have much Totoro yet, so he browsed through a list of Miyazaki characters to try and decide. Eventually, he found himself choosing between "a guy with a big moustache and sword" from Nausicaä (Lord Yupa) and everyone's favourite anti-fascist pig: Porco. I love Lord Yupa, but think this choice fits David's work perfectly and he really delivered.
