Void Rivals #25 Page 19 - Darak & Handroid Reunited!

As the original pillar of the Energon Universe, Void Rivals has been a very satisfying long from space opera with a cast of original characters with some familiar faces from the worlds of Transformers and GI Joe peppered in. One of the standout relationships in the series is that of the duo of Darak & Handroid. Handroid is a AI glove worn by the pilot Darak designed to assist while flying missions. There was a chunk of issues where the two were separated and here we see them once again paired up. In a classic kind of "hero suits up" scene as Darak is getting dressed in his flight suit he has a conversation with Handroid about the status of his own being. Yes, a talking robotic glove is having an identity crisis and wants to know if it can be considered alive.

Its a wonderfully fun scene between the pair and it stands as one of the earliest pieces of interior OA featuring the pair. Void Rivals issues 24 were all drawn digitally so Andrei Bressan's work on the "Quintesson War" beginning here in issue 25 marks the first traditionally drawn interior work on the title.

I really love what Bressan has brought to the title, a bit of a grittier approach to the world of Void Rivals which works incredibly well here in this big action heavy storyarc.
