Came here to say this. This single page is historical for several reasons, and meta is one of them. If Byrne didn't slip in the D'Bari at the bottom of this page, the Phoenix Saga would not have ended with her death, and the X-Men (hell, comics in general) would not have been the same today.

Roasted broccoli never tasted the same after this page. Back in the day this was the page that showed up ebay and was the first to break the thousand dollar threshold for Byrne X-Men pages. It blew people's minds back then!

Congratulations! So amazing.
This was a serendipitous and unscripted moment. When two issues of X-Men expanded into three, additional art pages were needed, which Byrne provided with minimal plot input from Claremont. Being a Marvel Silver Age enthusiast, Byrne thought it would be fun to include a tribute to the forgotten D'Bari from Avengers #4. He didn't contemplate how this genocide completely transformed the stakes of the "Dark Phoenix" story's resolution.
Byrne top 5 dead or alive. Amazing pick up.

I was lost in the wilderness when you posted this. But now am found. WOW, dude. Historic page and I would expect nothing less from the collection you've built! Also a nice crossover between Space and X-Men keeping your feet firmly in both lanes.
