I think smoking a cigar with your 10 inch razer sharp claw makes you sophisticated!
This is really fantastic. Love the pose, the facial expression, all the little hairs on his arm and back, and of course that single claw as a cigar holder. You probably wouldn't have to twist my arm if I saw this for sale somewhere. Congrats on a great piece.
Nice as it doesn't have the clutter and debris of his big commissions and it's just pure Logan.

Byrne has been around for so long that sometimes we take his art for granted. This take of Wolverine is amazingly original in every respect, from layout to detail. Great example of why Byrne is right up there on the Olympus of comic artists

EPIC GRAIL! NO ONE DOES LOGAN LIKE BYRNE! I read somewhere that Wolvering smokes cigars as therapudic relief from his keen sence of smell when trying to unwind. Don't know if that is the case but seems legit, and this piece is everything you could ask for in an ICONIC Wolverine example. Huge Congrats!

-SUPERB- portrait, Malvin - WOW!! Even though it doesn't feel like there's an obvious threat here, the sense of menace is palpable... You're really going to interrupt a claws-out Wolverine on his smoke break...? Beautiful body language, atmosphere, and rendering (especially the arm hair!) by JB here - the best there is at what he does! (I especially love how Logan's shadow cast on the wall behind him acts as a right hand border to the piece - really subtle and striking design move.) Enormous congrats on this (soon-to-be-a) killer piece, Malvin! Super iconic - Love this!
