Kimono Girl by Shane Glines

Back in early April Shane had an art drop in his shop. There was one piece that immediately caught my eye long before the sale that I was hoping to snag. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be and sold before I could check out. I then saw that he was also offering commissions. They were more expensive then the piece I was going after but I hadn't see Shane offer commission slots so I snagged one of the slots and requested that he do a piece similar to the one I had missed but turn her into a Kimono Girl. 
 

When I received the package from Shane I was very surprised to see that he had included 3 rough sketches that he had done for the piece as well as the finished ink drawing. He also surprised me with the piece being bigger then what I thought I was purchasing which made up for the fact the piece was more than the one I was actually trying for. I swear the listing was for a 9x12" but he sent an 11x17" which actually fills close to an 11x14". Of course I was thrilled to see the larger piece and even happier to see how stunning she was. I had no doubt Shane would come up with a killer piece and he did not disappoint in the slightest. She's even more breathtaking than I imagined. He took the design of the piece I missed out on and came up with a piece slightly sultrier but cute at the same time. As with all of Shane's pinups there is a wonderful retro aesthetic to the piece with the design. I absolutely love her pose and the flower in her hair is a beautiful element to help draw your focus to her face. Believe me I know how hard it is to draw your focus from her other assets. Haha The perfect Kimono Girl to get from this pinup master. Couldn't ask for a better commission from this amazing artist. Thrilled to have her in my collection.
