This gorgeous Mystique drawing is my first piece by Chris Bachalo. I love the use of markers here...how, despite being a pretty "busy" piece, the grays and use of negative space manage to keep it from being cluttered. Mystique's posture and facial expression in this piece are sort of confident and almost jaded in an endearing way, which really suits the character, I think.

Approx. 7" x 10 3/8". Markers on backing board. Signed & dated 2012

Not all comic backing boards are created equal. He did these in his own studio too crafting masterpieces and elevating what could be done on them.

Very nice! Yeah, he does a lot of pre-done illustrations on backing board.
