I recently was lucky enough to purchase two pages of amazing artwork directly from the writer/artist of Icon Devil, Neil Hansen (a/k/a Spyder at First Comics and currently as Bannen). It was an independant, self published comic that came out in 1987 (two issues), and there was a volume II in 1989 that was a reworked retelling of the story from volume I, also two issues.

I loved the style of the artwork and the overall feel of the story in both volumes, but the writing and artwork in volume II reached a whole nother level. Both pages, one from each volume, are posted on CAF. 

It's a dystopian type tale dealing with overpopulation in a very unique and drastic way. That's the very short version because I wouldn't want to give away any spoilers in case it resurfaces in the near future, which I hope it will. Neil hasn't layed the ghost to rest, and I expect the whole story to be told some day. Fingers crossed!
