The Crocodile Sketch Card

This is the original marker illustration for the Crocodile trading card, created for the upcoming Peter Pan trading card set by Master Piece Cards.

The artwork pays homage to J.M. Barrie’s literary depiction of the creature as a massive, prehistoric titan of the Neverland waters. The piece was rendered using a high-contrast cool toned marker palette, building up layers of dark indigo and charcoal to obscure the creature's immense frame. A dramatic, vertical shaft of bright moonlight acts as the main highlight, revealing the intricate, heavily armoured osteoderms and scales along its spine while casting its piercing eye and snout into menacing shadow.
