Description

One of the truly great story arc's of the last half century was the Brubaker and Epting run on Captain America. It relaunched Marve's quintenessential central figure from World War II to the Present as relevant and important and incredibly interesting. And as part of that run we were introduced to The Winter Soldier. Bucky Barnes back and in a series of stories and issues that were instant classics.

It provided comic readers with rich stories with wonderfully crafted plots, subplots, and character after character reintroduced in a fresh and interesting way. Kevin Feige and Victoria Alonso aloing with the Russo Brothers took notice and gave this story arc and Epting's character designs their full measure of respect on the big screen in some of the finest films in the entire MCU catalog.

I've been hoping to add a piece by Steve Epting to my theme of commissions and it was always going to be this character as the centerpiece.

I gave Steve free reign to lay out the piece as he saw fit and include characters that made sense and worked with the composition. I love his choices. All those nefarious figures from Marvel that would manipulate and abuse Bucky Barnes shattered psyche for their own malevolent ends find their own ultimate end on this wall.

He included Aleksander Lukin (or Alexander Pierce for you Redford fans), Baron Zemo, Dr. Faustus, Crossbones, Redskull, Arnim Zola and Sin.
I couldn't be more thrilled with the end result. I met with Steve at Heroes Con and specifically told him I wanted to thank him in person for how great this turned out.

It's been a while since I saw you post one of these.  What a great way to end the draught.  Wonderfully designed and executed.  Love all the shadows.  I think Zemo is probably my favorite trophy here.  And for whatever it's worth, I think Captain America, The Winter Soldier is the single best MCU film (Endgame was bigger, but not necessarily better).

Not sure Cap would be proud but that's an amazing piece by Epting.

I have to ask, does anyone call you Chris 'the head on a wall' guy?

It's your commitment to the theme that results in home runs like this. Always a perfect pairing of artist and character.

This is one of my favorite Trophy Wall pieces in your collection! Epting's inking in this one is masterful, and so representative of his run on Cap!! Awesome!

I like these a lot better when there are only bad guys' heads on the wall.

If you're gonna get Steve Epting to do a trophy wall, it's gotta be with Bucky, and he nailed it here.  Congrats!
