Mystery Sketch - Gustav (Expedition 33) by Carlos Barocelli

For the spring 2026 edition of Comic Art Live, I decided to do something a little different with my mystery sketches. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was a game that took up many hours of my life last year (and will again at some point when I finally get around to playing the DLC). It might be one of the best games I've every played, largely due to the fact that it destroyed me emotionally; not many games can live up to that claim. So to comemmerate my love of this game, I thought I'd pick up some mystery sketches of the characters.

I specifically asked for Gustav and one other character this time around and behold! This piece is only 8x10ish (as opposed to 9x12), but I still won the mystery sketch lottery by getting a full color painted piece! Look at this thing! Carlos Barocelli is not an artist I was familiar with, but he is someone I will now be watching out for. He's an Argentinian artist that is repped by N Risso art. I love the colors in this piece, and the detail on the character, while the background is more abstract. This piece is epic!
